program speakers design project excursion
Program
CROWDED’s program consists of lectures, workshops and excursions. Basically, the seminar can be divided into three parts; the introduction day (Friday May 26), the excursion weekend (Saturday May 27 & Sunday May 28), and the seminar week (Monday May 29 - Friday June 2). Each day has been given a specific subtheme within the broader theme CROWDED. These subthemes follow the build-up of generic architectural design process to ensure an integration between the lectures and workshops. Regarding the costs and logistics of the week, participating in the INDESEM-week costs €89 per student. This will include excursions, lectures, workshop and the design competition. For foreign students; accommodation during the week will be taken care off. Travel expenses from your hometown to Delft are for your own account. The lectures during the week are held by relevant and renowned speakers (architects, urbanists and designers), all related to this year’s specific contemporary theme ‘CROWDED’. At the end of each day, the lectures will be followed by a discussion between students and speakers concerning the subtheme of the day. During the week students will work in groups of 4 on the design competition. The design competition during the week will be related to the densification of the city of Rotterdam. The final presentations on the last day of the seminar (Friday June 2) will be judged by a jury, consisting of renowned architects and urbanists.
